Day 117: Barcoo Shire - Stonehenge to Jundah.

Did you know there is a little place in the corner of SW Queensland, called Stonehenge, population 40.  No, it doesn’t have any symbolic rock formations like its cousin in England.  It does have a pub with cold beer, and they are gearing up for rodeo weekend in two weeks time, and just quietly the amount of beer that was going into the pub – let’s just say I’m glad I wasn’t paying the bill.  In the Barcoo Shire there are only three towns Stonehenge, Jundah and Windorah and 61,000 square km for a population of 492 Amazing.  There is a great lookout 30km out on the North side of Jundah that you can stop and admire the view.  It is also a good thing the road was single lane tar because it rained a wee bit and this is the land of the black mud.  As soon as it gets a drop of quality h20 you slip and slide like no tomorrow, makes for interesting driving.
