Before I went on the Air Adventure Australia photo trip, I never really took any photos of birds, or animals. Reaching the Mary River in NT surrounded by wildlife; snappy handbags (crocs) beautiful birds of all shapes and kinds. You just can’t help clicking away and next thing you know your down two batteries, and filled up 8GB cards shooting in RAW. Wondering; ‘how did that happen?’ I think it is the challenge of trying to capture them right, at the right moment. Whether taking off in flight. Merely doing eccentric little things. Or predictable day by day survival skills like eating. In mud flats of Cairns today, these little guys ‘Bar-Tailed Godwit’ were just getting a snack in before lunch. Mmmm must me nice that gooey, squishy mud mixed with a good worm or two!
