Day 198: Cattana Wetlands.

Location 20km north of Cairns CBD, Cattana Wetlands is 80 hectares of reclaimed land now wetlands, picnic area, and joggers delight around the extensive track of three billabongs.  Although watching some people run/jog look like they are in so much pain I wonder if they are really enjoying themselves, or going through their head is the ‘no pain, no gain’ slogan.  Guess we all do things we don’t fancy in our lives, thinking it is going to help.  Back in day 16 I visited the new wetlands to discover a rainbow, and no birds.  Now, the lilies are starting to grow on the billabongs, a few more birds are visiting, and saw a Green Pygmy Goose.  Which might have to be a challenge for another day; quick little devils they are and you guessed it small.  Today enjoyed the sunrays through the clouds on the water, well worth a visit.
