Day 174 - Long way round.

You know, you plan some things and they don't go right.  Or even when you wing it, some things don't go right there either.  This was one of those times.  We decided as we set off from NW NSW that we'd take the roads less travelled and bush camp.  Which meant mostly on dirt.  Well, we didn't think of a little thing called the Burdekin Dam would get in our way.  The wet season has been over for ages.  Apparently someone forgot to tell the dam that.  With the water still going over the wall, it meant not going through to Ravenswood, and well about 300km extra on the trip opps.  However, you have to look at the positive side of it all.  We got to drive through some pretty cool countryside we would not have seen.  Then got to camp at the Burdekin and witness another cool sunset, with red drink.  So wasn't all that bad after all. :)
